Music is an important part of worship at FCC of Sharon. We are blessed with a talented organist and a creative Music Director who offer a variety of music programs for music lovers of all ages, experience and talents.
The choir sings every Sunday from September to June. They rehearse once a week in the evening and on Sunday morning before services, typically singing one anthem and leading the congregation in hymns and responses. The choir also sings at special services, for example, Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday. All adults and older youth with singing experience are invited to join. Reading music is helpful but not required.
“Jump In” Choir
Occasionally, anyone so inclined is invited to join the choir in singing the anthem of the day. Rehearsal is Sunday morning before our service. No regular commitment is required and music reading is not necessary. It is a wonderful way for anyone to sing without a weekly commitment.
Special Musical Events
Each year, the Chancel choir performs a Cantata or a special music program often including instrumentalists and singers from the wider community. It is an event that both the congregation and community look forward to attending every year.
During the summer months, members of the church provide special music for the worship service. Small groups, soloists, and instrumentalists are encouraged to participate.
The FCC Band consists of members of the congregation – singers, soloists, guitarists, cellists, pianists and bongo players, who occasionally play popular styles of music such as jazz and gospel throughout the year.
