Retreat!

 Take a Saturday and feed yourself with scripture, fellowship, and prayer.  Bill Herzog, Professor of  New Testament Studies at Andover Newton Theological School, will be our leader.  Bill

is someone I am going to work with in the Spring in his course on Parables, and he is known to be a very fine teacher.  He has also written a wonderful book on baseball and religion The Faith of Fifty Million!

Our date is October 24^th.  We expect the retreat to begin at 9:30 and conclude at 3:30.  Coffee and refreshments will be part of our time together, as will lunch.  We will have an outdoor component, and conclude with communion. 

It is possible to come for just the morning section or just for lunch and the afternoon section.  But we hope you can make it for the entire day – a time to de-stress, enjoy the company of others, and grow in faith. 

The cost of the retreat is only fifteen dollars.  If you plan to attend, please let Susanne Mullin know by e-mailing her or phoning the church office.  We hope you will!

INTERIM DISCUSSION

 

 

Sunday October 18, following services.

Childcare is available so as to make it possible for all to attend.

The questions we will be reflecting upon are:

* What keeps you coming to FCC?

* What are the strengths of FCC?

* What challenges do we face,

And how can we be strengthened during the interim time?

We hope many people of the church will attend:

new members, old members, non-members, yutes, young, and the well seasoned.

 

 

Memorial Service - Joe Petrosky

A memorial service will be held at the Church on Saturday, October 17 at 2:00 pm-
(on what would have been, Joe’s 83 rd birthday and he and Shirley’s anniversary.)
A collation, in the Parish Hall will follow the service.  All are welcome to attend.

We will gladly accept donations of clothing, linens, comforters, curtains and small household item. Books welcomed, BUT NO MUGS OR SUITCASES OR COMPUTERS OR TVs.  Volunteer opportunities on Friday, noon to 4.00 p.m., Friday evening at 7 p.m. and Saturday.  Join the comradely and fun!  Items maybe left on the Parish Hall Stage.  Proceeds to go to The John R. Condon Scholarship Fund at Bangor Theological Seminary..

***A clean-up crew is needed at noon to whip the Parish Hall into shape for the collation.  Please call the office if you would like to help!
