Pastor Condon Retires After Twenty Two Years
As Our Pastor
With heartfelt thanks and best wishes, our congregation bid farewell to Jack and Sue Condon on Sunday June 21, 2009. A memorable day for all, we began the day with a special service of worship. The sanctuary was full of members, old friends, former seminarians, as well as friends from the community. Favorite hymns and special anthems filled the church with music.
Following the service, a brunch was held at the Sharon Community Center.
It was a wonderful afternoon filled with memories from members of our congregation, as well as recognition of Pastor Condon's many ways of helping our community.
Gifts were presented to Jack and Sue with the highlight being a scholarship at Bangor Theological Seminary, funded in Jack's honor. As the afternoon drew to a close, we were once again treated to our choir, singing a song adapted by our choir director Anne Hughes to send us on our way with a smile instead of a tear.
Our thanks to the planning committee for all their hard work, and Roger Bridgeman for the wonderful slide show.
Note : if you would still like to add a page to the remembrance book, or make a donation to the scholarship fund, please contact Susanne in the office.
