In loving memory - -
Alfred Barton Meech
passed on to eternal rest on March 19, 2009,
after a lengthy, difficult illness from cancer.
Bart Meech became our Organist April 26, 1994 and
served with us until his retirement in the Spring of 2005.
For more than 60 years Bart served the Church as an
Organist and Director of Music Programs, the largest part
of that in a large Episcopal Churchin MI.
A superb craftsman and talented musician,
Bart had a well-developed sense of and knowledge
of the right music, for the church year and for the
congregation he sought to serve.
He was a gentleman of the highest order,
possed of a keen wit, friendly, caring, always ready
to assist and help, a gentle leader with a
deeply devout heart and soul.
For all Bart’s major talent and expertise,
while he was with us, a week never passed
that he did not come in to practice!
It was not an accident that we were so blessed.
